Dr. Catalin Copaescu
Prof. Dr. Cătălin Copăescu is the first surgeon of excellence in metabolic and bariatric surgery in Romania and the only one with double certification, European (IFSO-EC) and American (SRC). Being the one who laid the foundations of his specialization in Romania, Prof. Copăescu is not only the doctor with the most extensive experience in the field, but also the surgeon with the most complex cases, solving the most diverse and difficult cases throughout his career.

Bogdan Smeu is a consultant in upper gastrointestinal surgery and a bariatric surgeon at Ponderas Academic Hospital. With a surgical experience of more than 20 years, he is recognised as laparoscopic surgery expert and fellow of the European Board of Surgery-FEBS/MIS, he was accredited by Surgical Review Corporation as a Surgeon of Excellence in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, and he also received accreditation for Robotic Surgery as Console Surgeon.
